HB 6049 Summary

• Deletes requirement that the Department of Health grant a medical marijuana treatment center license to a member of the Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association–Florida Chapter by October 3, 2017.

• Allows existing entities holding active licenses under former law before July 1, 2017 to be automatically licensed as medical marijuana treatment centers by July 3, 2017.

• Establishes licensing for 10 additional medical marijuana treatment centers through August-October 2017, with one slot reserved for a recognized class member of specified black farmers litigation cases.

• Sets statewide maximum of 25 dispensing facilities per treatment center, increasing by five for each additional 100,000 registered qualified patients beyond 100,000.

• Licenses four additional treatment centers within 6 months after each 100,000-patient milestone is reached in the medical marijuana use registry.
