Removes the scheduled October 2, 2018 repeal date for the public records exemption covering agency employee misconduct complaints and investigation records.

Makes permanent the exemption from public disclosure for complaints of misconduct filed against agency employees and all information obtained during investigations, as provided in Florida Statutes section 119.071(2)(k).

Maintains the confidentiality of such complaints and investigation records until the investigation becomes inactive or the agency notifies the employee of the investigation's conclusion.

Eliminates the exemption's prior subjection to the Open Government Sunset Review Act, preventing automatic expiration unless reauthorized by the legislature.

Takes effect October 1, 2018.
