Designates February 6, 2018, as "FSU Day" in Florida to recognize Florida State University's contributions as an outstanding institution of higher education.

FSU's Tallahassee campus, founded in 1851, is the oldest continuous site of higher education in Florida and ranked number 33 among public universities by U.S. News and World Report in 2017.

Offers 351 programs within 16 independent colleges and schools with a faculty of 2,360 members, including six Nobel Laureates and members of the National Academy of Sciences.

2017 freshman class totaled approximately 6,500 students with an average incoming GPA of 4.1 and median SAT score of 1,289, and the university received 42,325 applications for admission, a 16 percent increase over 2016.

FSU College of Medicine surpassed $100 million in funded research in 2017 with more than 300 alumni physicians practicing in Florida, many serving medically underserved communities.
