Recognizes February 25, 2018, as "St. Johns River State College Day" and commemorates the college's 60th anniversary.

St. Johns River State College was founded in 1958 in Palatka, serving Clay, Putnam, and St. Johns counties, with 191 students in its first semester and currently approximately 11,000 students.

College expanded from junior college status to offer Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science, Associate in Arts, and Associate in Science degrees, as well as certificate and workforce training programs.

Major institutional milestones include merger with Collier-Blocker Junior College in 1964, opening branch campuses in Orange Park (1977) and St. Augustine (1986), opening Thrasher-Horne Center in 2004, and receiving approval for baccalaureate degrees in 2010.
