Pasco County School Board authorized to pay Marcus Button $1,246,215.29 to compensate for injuries sustained from a school bus accident on September 22, 2006, caused by negligence of a school bus driver.

Pasco County School Board authorized to pay Mark and Robin Button (Marcus's parents) $261,148.95 for damages sustained by their son as a result of the same accident.

Marcus Button suffered facial and skull fractures, brain damage, vision loss, and permanent disabilities requiring 24-hour care for the remainder of his life; jury apportioned 65 percent responsibility to the school board.

School board had previously paid $163,000 under Florida's statutory liability limit; this act appropriates the remaining unpaid balances from the trial judgment.

Attorney fees for this settlement limited to 25 percent of the total amounts awarded under the act, with payments constituting sole compensation for all claims arising from the accident.
