Authorizes physician assistants and advanced registered nurse practitioners to execute certificates for involuntary examinations under the Baker Act, alongside physicians, clinical psychologists, psychiatric nurses, and other mental health professionals.

Defines "advanced registered nurse practitioner" as a person licensed to practice professional nursing and certified in advanced or specialized nursing practice under s. 464.003.

Redefines "physician assistant" to reference the definition in s. 458.347(2) instead of the previous definition based on experience with mental disorders.

Updates cross-references throughout Florida Statutes (ss. 39.407, 394.495, 394.496, 394.9085, 409.972, and 744.2007) to reflect the redesignation of statutory subsections in s. 394.455.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
