Creates Section 768.38, Florida Statutes, establishing that businesses, organizations, or entities prohibiting concealed weapon or firearm licensees from carrying weapons assume absolute custodial responsibility for the licensee's safety and defense against unlawful acts, reckless conduct, or animal attacks on their property or adjacent properties used for access.

Permits concealed weapon or firearm licensees to bring a cause of action against prohibiting entities for bodily injury, death, economic loss, property damage, or other compensable losses resulting from criminal acts or animal attacks while disarmed, with recovery of damages, attorney fees, court costs, and expert witness costs.

Requires businesses, organizations, or entities with weapons prohibitions to clearly display notice that licensees are under the custodial responsibility of the entity.

Sets a 2-year statute of limitations for actions brought under this section and requires plaintiffs to prove they held a valid concealed carry license, the entity prohibited weapons, the entity was not legally required to ban weapons, and the harm resulted from acts that could reasonably have been prevented if the licensee could carry a weapon.

Effective July 1, 2018.
