Requires each school district to implement a drug and violence prevention program in partnership with the county sheriff's office beginning in the 2018-2019 school year for grade 5 students.

Program must include a 15-week curriculum selected or created by the county sheriff's office and age-appropriate for students.

Program purposes include preventing illegal drug, alcohol, and tobacco use; reducing risk factors; creating substance-free school environments; teaching students about law enforcement interactions; and instructing students on how to interact with police during stops.

Funding shall be split equally, with 50 percent provided by the county sheriff's office and 50 percent by the district school board.

State Board of Education authorized to adopt rules to administer the program; effective date is July 1, 2018.
