Creates new statute 633.217 prohibiting actions to influence firesafety inspectors to violate the Florida Fire Prevention Code, State Fire Marshal rules, or chapter 633 statutes.

Prohibits threatening, coercing, tricking, persuading, interfering with, or otherwise influencing firesafety inspectors to violate fire safety regulations.

Prohibits offering compensation to firesafety inspectors to induce violations of fire safety codes or rules.

First violation constitutes a misdemeanor of the second degree; second and subsequent violations constitute a misdemeanor of the first degree.

Effective date: October 1, 2018.
