Requires the Department of Corrections to include statewide mean sentencing information for first-time offenders in presentence investigation reports, specifically reporting whether the mean sentence is a nonstate prison sanction or state prison sentence (in months).

Mandates sentencing information be based on data from the year preceding the offender's sentencing year and be included in both full and summary presentence reports.

Makes clarifying technical changes to statutory language regarding "first-time offenders" in presentence investigation statutes (ss. 921.231 and 948.015).

Applies to presentence reports prepared under both s. 921.231 (general criminal cases) and s. 948.015 (cases with lowest permissible sentence of nonstate prison sanction).

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
