Amends alarm verification requirements to allow central monitoring stations to verify residential or commercial intrusion/burglary alarms through telephone calls, text messages, or other electronic means instead of calls alone.

Requires central monitoring stations to make two verification attempts to reach the premises owner, occupant, or authorized designee before contacting law enforcement for alarm dispatch.

Exempts verification requirements for alarms with properly operating visual or auditory sensors that enable monitoring personnel to verify the alarm signal directly.

Exempts firearms/ammunition storage facilities with valid federal firearms licenses from the two-attempt verification protocol if the customer opts out and notifies the alarm monitoring company.

Effective date: July 1, 2018.
