Requires the Secretary of Juvenile Justice to appoint the board of directors of the department's direct-support organization according to the organization's established bylaws, replacing previous requirements for specific representation from businesses and service districts.

Removes the scheduled repeal of section 985.672, F.S., making the direct-support organization provisions permanent rather than expiring October 1, 2018.

Adds "and" to clarify that direct-support organizations must be consistent with juvenile justice system goals, in the state's best interest, and aligned with the Department of Juvenile Justice's adopted goals and mission.

Makes minor grammatical amendments to the contract provisions by ending subsections (d) and (e) with periods instead of semicolons.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
