Prohibits arrest, charging, prosecution, or penalization of persons who seek medical assistance in good faith for individuals experiencing alcohol or drug-related overdoses under violations of s. 562.111, s. 782.04(1)(a)3., s. 893.13, s. 893.135, or s. 893.147.

Prohibits arrest, charging, prosecution, or penalization of persons experiencing alcohol or drug-related overdoses who seek medical assistance for themselves under violations of s. 562.111, s. 893.13, s. 893.135, or s. 893.147.

Prevents persons from being penalized for violations of conditions of pretrial release, probation, or parole if evidence of such violation was obtained as a result of seeking medical assistance for an overdose.

Specifies that immunity protections may not be used as grounds for suppression of evidence in other criminal prosecutions.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
