Requires the Florida Virtual School to give enrollment priority to dependent children of active duty military personnel not stationed in Florida whose home of record or DD Form 2058 (State of Legal Residence Certificate) lists Florida.

Authorizes the Florida Virtual School to use DD Form 2058 to verify residency for dependent children of active duty military personnel and to serve such students directly as part-time or full-time students.

Provides that funding for eligible military-dependent students shall be provided in accordance with existing funding mechanisms in section 1002.37(3).

Extends first preference for admission to special academic programs to dependent children of active duty military personnel, including virtual instruction programs provided by approved providers, magnet schools, advanced studies programs, advanced placement, dual enrollment, Advanced International Certificate of Education, and International Baccalaureate.

Effective date: July 1, 2018.
