Authorizes the use of dynamic message signs on state highways to post alerts about hit-and-run incidents that result in serious bodily injury to pedestrians to assist law enforcement in apprehending suspects.

Allows alert postings to include the suspect vehicle's complete or partial license plate number, make, style, and color, and the identity of the suspect.

Defines "hit and run" as an incident where a motor vehicle driver involved in an accident fails to stop at the scene.

Defines "serious bodily injury" as injury involving substantial risk of death, serious permanent disfigurement, protracted loss or impairment of body function, or second or third degree burns or fractures.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
