Require assisted living facilities to provide written notice to residents or their legal representatives when relocating or terminating residency, including specific reasons for the action.

Maintain the existing 45-day advance notice requirement for relocation or termination, except in medical emergencies or when a resident engages in harmful conduct patterns.

Require facilities to send a copy of relocation or termination notices to the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program within 7 calendar days of providing notice to the resident or their legal representative.

Require facilities to obtain court approval to terminate residency without the 45-day notice period.

Effective July 1, 2018.
