Create section 633.2225 requiring condominium and cooperative associations operating buildings of three or more stories without fire sprinkler systems in common areas to post State Fire Marshal-approved warning signs or symbols.

Authorize the State Fire Marshal to adopt rules governing the dimensions, color, placement, location, and timeline for posting signs on buildings without fire sprinkler systems.

Expand who may provide fire and life safety code compliance certificates to include professional engineers in addition to licensed electrical contractors and electricians.

Exempt buildings 75 feet or less in height from fire sprinkler system retrofitting requirements; for taller buildings, require two-thirds (instead of majority) unit owner vote to forego retrofitting.

Extend compliance deadlines: associations must initiate building permits by December 31, 2018 (instead of 2016) and complete retrofitting by January 1, 2022 (instead of 2020).
