Amends Florida Statute 944.23 to allow legislators visiting state correctional institutions to bring accompanying persons, including another elected official, an ordained minister, or a member of the legislator's staff.

Reorganizes the list of persons authorized to visit state prisons by converting commas to periods and adding subsection designations (a) through (g).

Maintains authorization for the Governor, Cabinet members, state court judges, state attorneys, public defenders, and authorized representatives of the commission to visit at their pleasure.

Preserves existing provisions allowing the department to prescribe regulations for other visitors and requiring permission for bona fide reporters and writers.

Effective date: July 1, 2018.
