Changes master's degree requirement for marriage and family therapist licensure to accept degrees from programs accredited by the Commission of Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, instead of specifying detailed course-by-course requirements.

Allows graduate courses to be approved by the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling in place of the previous nine specific course areas that were mandated.

Reduces required clinical experience from 3 years to 2 years at the post-master's level for applicants with degrees that did not include all required coursework.

Eliminates education requirements for licensure or certification by endorsement for applicants who hold an active license in another state and have actively practiced for 3 of the last 5 years.

Effective date is July 1, 2018.
