Creates section 604.71, Florida Statutes to establish state policy encouraging sustainable cultivation of vegetables and fruits for personal consumption.

Prohibits counties, municipalities, and other political subdivisions from regulating vegetable gardens on residential properties, making any existing local ordinances void and unenforceable.

Allows local governments to adopt general regulations not specifically targeting vegetable gardens, including those addressing water use during droughts, fertilizer use, and invasive species control.

Effective July 1, 2018.
