Expands health insurance policy eligibility to include dependent elderly parents alongside dependent children of the policyholder or certificateholder.

Requires group, blanket, or franchise health insurance policies that offer coverage for elderly parents to insure dependent elderly parents who are 60 years of age or older.

Applies dependent coverage requirements to health maintenance organization contracts under section 641.31, Florida Statutes.

Allows insurers to medically underwrite and charge appropriate premiums for dependent elderly parent coverage without requiring employers to pay the cost.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
