Recognizes February 6, 2018, as "FSU Day" in Florida to honor Florida State University's contributions to higher education.

FSU is the oldest continuous site of higher education in Florida, founded in 1851, and ranked No. 33 among national public universities in 2017.

The university offers 301 programs across 18 colleges and schools with 2,360 faculty members, including National Academy of Sciences members and six Nobel Laureates.

FSU received a record 42,325 applications for the 2017 summer and fall semesters with a freshman class of approximately 6,500 students, achieving an average freshman GPA of 4.1 and median SAT score of 1,289.

The FSU College of Medicine achieved over $100 million in funded research in 2017 and has more than 300 alumni physicians practicing in Florida, including in medically underserved communities.
