Amends section 286.01141 of Florida Statutes to remove the scheduled repeal date of October 2, 2018 for an exemption allowing criminal justice commissions to close portions of public meetings.

Permits duly constituted criminal justice commissions to hold closed meetings when discussing active criminal intelligence information or active criminal investigative information currently being considered or likely to come before the commission.

Requires commission members to publicly disclose at any public meeting that such closed matter has been discussed, maintaining transparency while protecting sensitive criminal information.

Defines "duly constituted criminal justice commission" as an advisory commission created by municipal or county ordinance with members from both private and public sectors examining local criminal justice issues.

Takes effect October 1, 2018.
