Creates immunity from arrest, charge, prosecution, or penalization for persons who in good faith seek medical assistance for someone experiencing an alcohol or drug overdose, protecting them from violations of underage alcohol laws (s. 562.11, s. 562.111) and drug paraphernalia/possession laws (s. 893.147(1), s. 893.13(6))

Extends the same immunity protections to individuals who experience or believe they are experiencing an overdose and seek medical assistance for themselves

Requires persons seeking immunity to remain at the scene until emergency medical services arrive and cooperate with EMS personnel and law enforcement

Protects individuals on pretrial release, probation, or parole from being penalized for condition violations if the evidence was obtained as a result of seeking overdose-related medical assistance

Specifies that immunity protections cannot be used as grounds to suppress evidence in other criminal prosecutions; effective date July 1, 2019
