Extends the application deadline for registered contractors to obtain state certification from November 1, 2015 to November 1, 2021.

Amends Section 489.514, Florida Statutes, regarding grandfathering provisions for electrical contractors, alarm system contractors, and electrical specialty contractors.

Applicants must meet certification requirements including holding a valid registered local license, passing a substantially similar written examination, and having at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Applicants must not have had their contractor's license revoked, suspended in the last 5 years, or assessed a fine exceeding $500 in the last 5 years.

Takes effect July 1, 2019.
