CS/HB 935 Summary

• Defines "health insurer" as entities issuing major medical coverage through individual or group policies or health maintenance organizations.

• Prohibits health insurers from limiting providers' ability to disclose to patients whether their cost-sharing obligation exceeds the cash price for a covered service without insurance.

• Prohibits health insurers from requiring insured individuals to make payments for covered services that exceed the cash price of the service without health insurance coverage.

• Takes effect July 1, 2019.
