Authorizes district school boards and superintendents to establish law enforcement substations in public high schools through cooperative agreements with law enforcement agencies as part of student safety efforts.

Requires law enforcement officers assigned to substations to meet the requirements of a school resource officer under Florida Statute 1006.12(1).

Allows costs of substations and officer salaries to be paid jointly by the district school board and law enforcement agency as mutually agreed upon.

Grants the State Board of Education and Department of Law Enforcement authority to establish rules to administer this statute.

Effective date: July 1, 2019.
