Repeals section 790.33, Florida Statutes, which previously preempted local jurisdictions from regulating firearms and ammunition.

Prohibits public and private employers from preventing customers, employees, or invitees from possessing legally owned firearms locked inside or locked to a private motor vehicle in a parking lot.

Prohibits employers from inquiring about, searching for, or taking action based on the presence of firearms in private vehicles, except that law enforcement may conduct searches based on due process and constitutional protections.

Prohibits employers from conditioning employment on whether an employee holds a concealed carry license or from requiring agreements that ban legal firearms locked in private vehicles in parking lots.

Prohibits employers from denying access to parking lots or terminating/discriminating against employees for exercising constitutional rights to keep and bear arms, as long as firearms are never exhibited on company property except for lawful defensive purposes; effective July 1, 2019.
