Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is authorized to pay $1.45 million to Maria Tenner as personal representative of the Estate of Eric Scott Tenner for injuries and damages resulting from a bus strike on October 8, 2014.

Eric Scott Tenner, a 45-year-old cyclist, was struck from behind by a county-operated bus near the U.S. 1 Busway and SW 124th Street and died from his injuries on October 11, 2014.

Settlement agreement totals $1.75 million, with $300,000 paid under state liability limits and $1.45 million conditioned on passage of this claim bill.

Attorney fees are capped at $290,000 and lobbying fees are capped at $72,500; no other costs or expenses may be paid from the award.

The appropriation provides sole compensation for all present and future claims arising from Eric Scott Tenner's death and takes effect upon becoming law.
