Appropriates $1.75 million from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as relief for the Estate of Danielle Maudsley resulting from her death on September 15, 2013.

Compensates the estate for injuries and damages arising from the alleged negligence of Trooper Daniel Cole and the Florida Highway Patrol when Ms. Maudsley was tased while attempting to flee a substation on September 19, 2011.

Combined with a prior $200,000 payment by the Division of Risk Management, this appropriation provides the total settlement amount of $1.95 million that a jury could reasonably have awarded at trial.

Warrants payment to the Estate minus any outstanding Medicaid liens for medical expenses and care provided to Ms. Maudsley, and limits attorney fees to a maximum of 25 percent of the appropriated amount.

Takes effect July 1, 2019, and constitutes the sole compensation for all present and future claims related to this incident.
