• Schedules FDA-approved cannabidiol drug products to Schedule V of Florida's controlled substances list, classifying them as having low abuse potential and accepted medical use.

• Updates penalties for offenses involving Schedule V controlled substances across multiple statutes, establishing misdemeanor charges rather than felony charges for manufacturing, delivery, possession with intent to sell, and possession of Schedule V substances.

• Reenacts related statutes (sections 817.563, 831.31, 893.07, and 893.13) to incorporate references to the new Schedule V drug product and apply corresponding penalties.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
