Creates section 1004.098, Florida Statutes, to exempt identifying information of applicants for president or provost positions at state universities and Florida College System institutions from public records requirements under Florida Statutes section 119.07(1) and the Florida Constitution.

Exempts any portion of meetings held for identifying, vetting, or disclosing information about such applicants from public meeting requirements under Florida Statutes section 286.011 and the Florida Constitution, with closed portions requiring reasonable notice and complete recording.

Requires meetings held to establish job qualifications or compensation frameworks for potential applicants to remain open to the public and subject to public meeting requirements.

Removes the exemption for identifying information of final applicants no later than 30 days before the date of the meeting at which final action or vote is taken regarding employment.

Subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and automatically repeals on October 2, 2024, unless reenacted by the Legislature; effective July 1, 2019.
