Establishes financial literacy as a separate one-half credit requirement for high school graduation, beginning with students entering grade 9 in the 2019-2020 school year

Requires students to complete the financial literacy course during grades 11 or 12

Reduces elective credit requirements from eight credits to seven and one-half credits to accommodate the new financial literacy requirement

Exempts transfer students from other countries, states, private schools, or home education programs from the financial literacy requirement if their transcript shows passage of a similar course

Allows students to earn financial literacy credit through the Credit Acceleration Program (CAP) by passing an appropriate assessment identified by the State Board of Education
