Requires insurers to base any coverage denials or premium differentials on objective statistical evidence related to life expectancy or health, with documentation provided to the state office upon request

Classifies genetic information as nonpublic, private health information subject to state privacy protections

Requires direct-to-consumer genetic testing companies to obtain prior written authorization before sharing any personal health information with life or health insurance companies

Applies to insurance policies entered into or renewed on or after January 1, 2020, with an overall effective date of July 1, 2019
