Requires students entering grade 9 in 2019-2020 or later to correctly answer at least 60 of 100 questions on a civics test identical to the naturalization test used by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to obtain a diploma

Reduces elective credit requirements from eight to seven and one-half credits for students entering grade 9 in 2019-2020 or later to accommodate the new civics requirement

Maintains existing social studies requirements of one credit each in U.S. History and World History, plus one-half credit each in economics (with financial literacy) and U.S. Government
