Expands exceptions to the mandatory consultation of Florida's prescription drug monitoring program before prescribing or dispensing controlled substances to patients age 16 or older

Creates a new exemption for prescribers and dispensers when providing controlled substances to patients for pain relief related to a terminal condition, as defined in Florida statute 456.44(1)(a)2

Maintains the existing exemption for nonopioid controlled substances listed in Schedule V under state or federal law

Effective date of July 1, 2019
