Creates section 553.887 of Florida Statutes requiring the Florida Building Commission to adopt regulations and standards for tiny homes into the Florida Building Code

Defines a tiny home as a dwelling unit of 400 square feet or less in floor area, excluding lofts

Requires habitable spaces and hallways to have minimum ceiling height of 6 feet 8 inches, and bathrooms, kitchens, and toilet rooms to have minimum ceiling height of 6 feet 4 inches

Establishes that lofts must have a minimum floor area of 35 square feet and be at least 5 feet in any horizontal dimension, with access permitted by stairs, ladders, alternating tread devices, or ships ladders

Directs the commission to review current international codes and incorporate relevant tiny home provisions into the Florida Building Code

Effective date: July 1, 2019
