Commissioner of Education must provide statewide, standardized assessments in any language upon request by a school district for students with limited English proficiency.

Students with limited English proficiency may choose to take statewide, standardized assessments and end-of-course (EOC) assessments in their native language or in English.

Department of Education must develop and provide EOC assessments in any language upon request by a school district for students with limited English proficiency.

Reenacts multiple sections of Florida Statutes to incorporate the native language assessment amendments throughout related laws governing school choice programs, student transfer requirements, competency-based education, school grading systems, and personnel evaluation.

Effective date: July 1, 2019.
