County budget officers must submit annual information to the Office of Economic and Demographic Research by October 15 each year, including government spending per resident, debt per resident, median income, employee salaries, percent of budget spent on salaries and benefits, and number of special taxing districts.

Municipal budget officers must submit the same economic and financial information to the Office of Economic and Demographic Research beginning October 15, 2019, in a format specified by the office.

Tentative budgets posted on county and municipal websites must remain posted for at least 45 days; final budgets and adopted budget amendments must remain posted for at least 2 years.

The Office of Economic and Demographic Research must establish the format and forms for county and municipal budget information submissions by July 15, 2019.
