Reduces the validity period of temporary educator certificates from 3 school fiscal years to 2 school fiscal years, effective July 1, 2019.

Extends the deadline for temporary certificate holders to complete the requirement in paragraph (2)(g) from 1 calendar year to 2 calendar years from the date of employment.

Changes language from "shall not employ" to "may not employ" regarding school districts' ability to continue employment of individuals with temporary certificates beyond the specified time period.

Reduces the temporary certificate period for military veterans seeking educational leadership positions from 3 years to 2 years under section 1012.55.

Changes "shall" to "must" regarding written requests for reissuance of temporary certificates submitted by district superintendents and school governing authorities.
