Allows licensed prescribers to dispense up to a 24-hour supply of medicinal drugs to emergency department patients or hospital inpatients upon discharge when community pharmacy services are not readily accessible.

Drug supply limits are the greater of 48 hours or through the end of the next business day, or up to 72 hours during a declared state of emergency.

Authorizes prescribers to provide patients with prescriptions for medicinal drug use beyond the initial 24-hour dispensed supply if warranted.

Requires any controlled substance prescribing or dispensing under this law to comply with statutes 456.44 and 465.0276.

Takes effect July 1, 2020.
