HB 149 Summary: Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers

• Requires the Department of Health to license any entity that cultivates, processes, transports, or dispenses low-THC cannabis, medical cannabis, and cannabis delivery devices as a medical marijuana treatment center.

• Removes restrictions on the number of applicants that may be licensed as medical marijuana treatment centers within specified timeframes.

• Removes provisions limiting the number of dispensing facilities that may be established or operated statewide or regionally by each medical marijuana treatment center (provisions sunset April 1, 2020).

• Revises definitions of "edibles," "low-THC cannabis," and "marijuana" to clarify cultivation, processing, transportation, and dispensing requirements.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
