Amends s. 790.065, F.S. to make records confidential and exempt from public disclosure when a buyer or transferee is not found to be prohibited from purchasing ammunition by Florida and federal law.

Requires the Department of Law Enforcement to destroy records used for criminal history checks immediately after communicating approval/nonapproval numbers to the licensee, and in no event later than 48 hours after the response.

Makes the exemption subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and specifies it shall stand repealed on October 2, 2025, unless reviewed and reenacted by the Legislature.

Establishes public necessity for the exemption by citing concerns that knowledge of ammunition purchases could identify armed individuals and be used to harass law-abiding citizens exercising Second Amendment rights.

Takes effect contingent upon HB 289 or similar legislation being adopted in the same legislative session and becoming law.
