CS/HB 333 Summary

• Amends Florida Statutes section 903.133 to prohibit courts from granting bail pending appellate review or posttrial motion for persons convicted of sexual offenses against minors.

• Expands bail denial to include any offense requiring sexual offender registration under s. 943.0435(1)(h) or sexual predator registration under s. 775.21(4) when the offender was 18 years or older and the victim was a minor.

• Maintains existing bail prohibitions for first-degree felonies including murder, kidnapping, rape, burglary, and drug trafficking.

• Effective date: October 1, 2020.
