Creates s. 784.04875, F.S., establishing domestic violence and dating violence as a first-degree misdemeanor punishable under s. 775.082 or s. 775.083

Prohibits persons convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence from possessing firearms or ammunition, and requires mandatory surrender upon conviction to local law enforcement

Requires law enforcement officers at domestic violence scenes to remove firearms when probable cause exists and the firearm is in plain view or discovered during lawful search

Allows defendants to transfer surrendered firearms to another person who passes a background check and agrees to store weapons inaccessible to the defendant
