Creates Section 379.1026, Florida Statutes, exempting site-specific location information of endangered and threatened species held by government agencies from public records requirements

Applies to species listed as endangered or threatened under Florida law (s. 379.2291) or by federal agencies; does not apply to animals held in captivity

Subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act with automatic repeal on October 2, 2025, unless reauthorized by the Legislature

Justified by the need to prevent wildlife poaching, protect site integrity from increased traffic, shield private property owners from trespass and liability issues, and encourage property owners and researchers to share species location data with agencies

Effective date: July 1, 2020
