School districts with law enforcement officers on campus must develop interlocal agreements with the local sheriff's office or law enforcement agency, fire department, and emergency medical services organization

Agreements must establish protocols for connecting school districts to appropriate dispatch centers and ensuring proper communication between all first responder agencies and schools

Districts must create protocols for sharing mental health services resources among the partnering agencies

Joint recurrent training requirements must be established for law enforcement officers assigned to schools along with fire and EMS personnel

The State Board of Education, in consultation with the State Fire Marshal and Department of Law Enforcement, will adopt rules to administer these requirements; effective date July 1, 2020
