Creates the "Florida Crisis Shelter Protection Act" establishing Section 95.39, Florida Statutes, effective July 1, 2020

Shields nonprofit organizations operating crisis shelters from civil liability when providing free temporary housing or support services to program participants

Defines "crisis shelter" broadly to include emergency shelters, hurricane evacuation shelters, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, runaway shelters, and transitional shelters

Extends liability protection to cover acts/omissions by the nonprofit, third-party referrals, and actions of program participants including criminal activity, theft, injury, or death

Does not supersede Chapter 491 licensing requirements for social workers, marriage and family therapists, or mental health counselors
