Removes the requirement that servicemembers submit a written statement certifying they made "reasonable efforts" to protect their personal information before claiming a public records exemption

Extends the public records exemption for identification and location information of servicemembers, spouses, and dependents from October 2, 2020 to October 2, 2025

Protected information includes home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, places of employment, and school/daycare locations for servicemembers who served after September 11, 2001, and their families

Servicemembers need only submit a written request for exemption to the agency holding their records, rather than meeting the additional "reasonable efforts" requirement

Effective date: October 1, 2020
