Requires charter schools to obtain district school board approval before employing school resource officers or school safety officers.

Authorizes district school boards to oversee, manage, and establish best practices for school resource officer and school safety officer employment by charter schools within the district.

Applies to amendments to section 1006.12, Florida Statutes, which governs safe-school officer requirements at public schools and charter schools.

Effective date is July 1, 2020.
